Malcolm Birkett — Treasurer
Representing Community Organisations
Malcolm is a retired Chartered Civil & Water Engineer with over 35 years experience in the utilities sector. The first half of his working life was spent with North West Water (and their predecessors!) and the second part with two companies providing services within the sector. Following the sale of his company in the late 90s Malcolm was also asked to join Manchester Business School as a Visiting Fellow involved with the design & delivery of post-graduate courses, which he did on a part time basis for a number of years.
Outside the workplace he has been director of a national charity, chair of governors at a local school, and musical director of a number of amateur operatic groups. His main interests are musical – being an ex instrumentalist – however, being born & bred in Wigan means he can’t manage without his Rugby!
